Oracle OpenWorld 2011 comes to San Francisco

From Thursday, September 29th to Friday, October 7th , Moscone Center will be the site of the world’s largest gathering of technology experts and enthusiasts, as Oracle OpenWorld 2011 presents more than 1,800 sessions, 400 partner exhibits, keynotes from industry leaders, labs, networking events and much more. Get the most benefit from your technology with this opportunity to learn, collaborate and connect at Oracle OpenWorld 2011.
While Oracle OpenWorld 2011 will shut down Howard Street, and will also have events on the Yerba Buena Gardens Meadow, ALL of the Yerba Buena Gardens restaurants and attractions will be open for the public to enjoy. From the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Zeum Children’s Museum, Zeum Carousel, Children’s Garden and Bowling Center to B Restaurant and Bar, Moe’s Grill, the Zeum Café, Samovar Tea Lounge and the Metreon Restaurants, your Yerba Buena Gardens experience is guaranteed to be an enjoyable, rewarding and enrichening experience.
To accommodate the large crowd of Oracle customers and partners, the following closures will be in effect:
Street Closures
Howard Street, Between 3rd and 4th Streets – Full Street Closure
- Closure begins Thursday, September 29th at 8:00 pm
- re-Opening Friday, October 7th, at 4:00 pm
3rd Street between Howard and Folsom Streets #2 Western Traffic Lane
(Lane closure in effect during non commute hours- 9:00 am to 3:00 pm & 7:00 pm to 7:00 am)
- Closure begins Thursday, September 29th, at 8:00 pm
- Re-Opening Friday, October 7th by 4:00 pm
Howard Street between Hawthorne and 3rd Streets 2 Southern Traffic Lanes
Howard Street between Hawthorne and 3rd Streets - Southern Curb Lane
- Closures begins Thursday, September 29th at 8:00 pm
- Re-Opening Friday, October 7th by 4:00 pm
4th Street between Howard and Moscone Loading Dock Entrance
(Eastern Lane Closure - 5:00 am to 3:00 pm each day- Open only for afternoon commute 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm
- Closure begins Friday, September 30th, at 5:00 pm
- Re-opening Thursday, October 6th at 3:00 pm
Howard Street Between 4th and 5th Streets- Northern Parking Lane
Howard Street Between 4th and 5th Streets- 2 Northern Traffic Lanes
4th Street between Minna and Howard Streets- Western Curb Lane
- Closures begins Sunday, October 2nd and 6:00 am
- Re-Opening Thursday, October 6th at 8:00 pm
Crosswalk Closures
3rd and Howard Streets Northern Crosswalk, Between the W Hotel and the YBCA Theater
- Closure begins Thursday, September 29th at 8:00 pm
- Re-Opening Friday, October 7th at 4:00 pm
Hawthorne Lane Between Howard and Folsom Streets- Street Restriping
(East Side Parking of Hawthorne Lane will become Traffice Lane)
- Begins Thursday, September 29th at 8:00 pm
- Re-opening Friday, October 7th at 4:00 pm
Though the streets may be closed, the Neighborhood is open, with plenty of events during the week, and public transportation to get you there. Rest assured that whether its the fine dining, arts and culture, or ample shopping you love, it can still be found in the Yerba Buena Neighborhood.
