The Better Market Street Project
Beginning September 29th

Traffic traveling eastbound (toward the Ferry Terminal) on Market Street will be diverted.

  • Eastbound traffic on Market Street will be encouraged to turn right onto 10th Street
  • Traffic that does not turn off at 10th Street will be required to turn right onto 8th Street
  • Traffic entering Market Street eastbound from 7th Street must exit right at 6th Street
  • Westbound traffic on Market Street (toward Van Ness Avenue) will not be affected.
  • Transit, taxis, delivery vehicles and bicycles will continue to travel in both directions on Market Street.
  • All traffic on streets crossing Market Street will continue as normal.

Oracle OpenWorld 2009 comes to San Francisco
October 11th-15th

 

From October 11th to October 15th, Moscone Center will be the site of the world’s largest gathering of technology experts and enthusiasts, as Oracle OpenWorld 2009 presents more than 1,800 sessions, 400 partner exhibits, keynotes from industry leaders, labs, networking events and much more. Get the most benefit from your technology with this opportunity to learn, collaborate and connect at Oracle OpenWorld 2009. 

While Oracle OpenWorld 2009 will shut down Howard Street, and will also have events on the Yerba Buena Gardens Meadow, ALL of the Yerba Buena Gardens restaurants and attractions will be open for the public to enjoy. From the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Zeum Children’s Museum, Zeum Carousel, Children’s Garden and Bowling Center to B Restaurant and Bar, Moe’s Grill, the Zeum Café, Samovar Tea Lounge and the Metreon Restaurants, your Yerba Buena Gardens experience is guaranteed to be an enjoyable, rewarding and enrichening experience.     

To accommodate the large crowd of Oracle customers and partners, the following closures will be in effect:

Street Closures

Howard Street, October 8th at 8pm to October 16th at 8pm
• Between 3rd and 4th Streets – Full Street Closure

4th Street, October 9th at 5am to October 16th at 3pm
• Between Howard and Moscone Loading Dock Entrance
• Eastern Lane Closure-5:00am to 3:00pm each day

Howard Street, October 10th at 6am to October 15th at 8pm
• Between 4th and 5th Streets – Northern Parking Lane
• Between 4th and 5th Streets – 2 Northern Traffic Lanes

4th Street, October 10th at 6am to October 15th at 8pm
• Between Minna and Howard Streets – Western Curb Lane

Crosswalk Closures

3rd and Howard Streets, October 8th at 8pm to October 16th  at 8pm 
• Between The W Hotel and YBCA Theater – Northern Crosswalk

Though the streets may be closed, the Neighborhood is open, with plenty of events during the week, and public transportation to get you there. Rest assured that whether its the fine dining, arts and culture, or ample shopping you love, it can still be found in the Yerba Buena Neighborhood.
